- Hey, Im Karis, and Im an Aussie serving God in Thailand! Ive come to see that most people spend their lives running from their past, but I want to spend my life helping others to move on from their past and find the love and healing from God that I received. When I was 16 years old (Oct’06), God called me to go up to a Missions call at an Australian music event. He has taken me on an adventure ever since. In Dec‘06 God called me to move to Thailand with my family. My parents were moving in Aug’07 but I was planning on staying in Australia. Obviously, God had different plans. So in Aug’07, when I was 17, my family and I moved from Australia to Thailand. For 6 months I was involved in ministries with children and English teaching (I once told God three things: I’m never moving to Thailand, never teaching English, and never working with kids!). But I loved it. Now I’m involved with YWAM Thailand (www.ywamthailand.org) and feel Gods call to YWAM in Ubon Ratchatani, Isaan (North-East Thailand). I have a wonderful Isaan fiancee (Num) who I met at YWAM Chiang Rai. He has the same passion for Isaan that I have. We’re hoping to marry next year and serve God in Isaan for life!
